South America is BEAUTIFUL!! Some of the highlights so far have been:

1. The Sanblas archipelago off the coast of Panama.

2. Meat on a stick with hot sauce.

3. A cold shower after being on a boat in the ocean for 6 days.

4. Cartagena

5. Colombian Coffee

The entire trip has been a blast so far & there is more to look forward to. In the next week or so the tenative plan is to head for Santa Marta to do a 5-6 day hike to some ruins. See Taganga, the Tayrona National Park, & head for Bogata around the 11th or 12th.

Hey everyone, we made it to cartagena a full day later than expected. we had virtually no wind when we were sailing and the motor went out the day we were supposed to be arriving. Needless to say it was rather slow going with no wind and no motor. however, we did make it and we all smelled rather pungent after not having showered for six days and being covered with sweat, salt water, and sun screen, not to mention the fact that we were sleeping within arms distance of a manually flushing toilet that none of us could seem to figure out, and were reminded of our ignorance repeatedly by the captain. Other than that we have enjoyed the trip and the islands where we stopped on the boat were phenomenal.
